A wonderful sunny spring day greeted the 130 participants who traveled to the far corners of Cobb's Hill Park. The course was designed by Rick and Dayle Lavine who were also the meet directors. 74 Starts was a great way to open the season.

Cobb's Hill is a City of Rochester Park. There are wonderful views of the City for those who pause during their event. The White course featured flags on trails for first timers. The Yellow course had flags near trails and took runners to many areas of the park. The Orange course featured flags as far from trails as possible. But in a small open park, that is not far. For those not satisfied by the Orange course, a Long Orange course was provided by adding a second Orange level map to the regular Orange. Despite a rainy Saturday the course was dry except for the field in front of the Tay House Lodge. (The Rugby teams playing in the field seemed to enjoy the wet and muddy field.)

As usual many volunteers helped create a very successful meet. Don Winslow served as greeter. Registration was handled by Victor Klassen, Elizabeth Hane, Laurie Hunt, and Sandi Willsey. The registration process was simplified by having self-registration available for members. 50% of the starters utililized this time saving procedure. The Start/Finish times were assigned by Dick Detwiler, Stina Bridgeman, Lindsay Worner, and Joel Shore. Karl Kolva gave an instruction clinic. Sandra Lomker and Dayle Lavine brought the treats. Dayle set the String-O course. Sandra Lomker collected renewals and new memberships. Tom Cornell had a complete sellout of the schedule T-shirts. (Many of last year's volunteers earned their T-shirt.) Rob Stevens, Steve Tylock, and Bob Bundy picked up the controls.
