The steady 20+mph wind and cooler temps did not deter over 100 individuals from experiencing the rugged beauty of Abraham Lincoln Park.

The wind bothered home base (toppling one of the meet boxes at one point) more than the orienteerers where the forest provided ample cover from the gusts. The hills were demanding, as were the courses set by first-time course setter Victor Klassen. Many participants had minutes taken off of their time by picking up trash in the park, this included three monster truck tires. (Okay, maybe they were regular tires, but they felt like monster truck tires by those carrying them back to home base). We definitely left the park cleaner than when we got there.
